PASSION DISTRIBUTION STRIKES SALES FOR PROSPECTORS

London, Monday 15th June 2015 - Passion Distribution is delighted to announce global sales of top returning  Weather Channel series - PROSPECTORS S3 (10 x 60' & 1 x 60’ Best Of Special) produced by High Noon Entertainment. Sales include National Geographic Channel (Australia and New Zealand), Seven (Australia), ProSiebenSat.1 (Germany), and Fokus TV (Poland). Season 4 of the series has been commissioned. 

National Geographic Channel (Australia and New Zealand) has acquired the territory premiere of the series while Seven Network’s DTT Channel, 7Mate has the second window six months later. National Geographic Channel will premiere the series on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 9:30 PM. ProSiebenSat.1 in Germany has acquired the series for it’s FDTT channel ProSieben MAXX and Fokus TV (Poland) have also picked up the series. 

PROSPECTORS has been a key element in making Sunday nights the top performing night on The Weather Channel and a viewer destination.  Based upon episode premieres, Seasons 1-3 were all in the top ten of all-time rankings of original programs on The Weather Channel (ranked on P25-54).  In addition, it has three of the top ten original programming telecasts ever on The Weather Channel.  

PROPECTORS is set in Colorado’s Mount Antero which is home to North America’s richest, most abundant gem fields. But finding these gems is no easy feat for the modern day prospectors following in the footsteps of their predecessors from 150 years ago. At 14,000 feet above sea level, there’s 50% less oxygen, twice as many lightning strikes, hurricane force winds and riches just waiting to be found. They battle Mother Nature, rockslides and thieves in the hope of striking it rich. 

Passion also works directly with The Weather Channel with an exclusive agreement distributing high-end factual programming including new series BRAINSTORMERS (8 x 60’), THREE SCIENTISTS WALK INTO A BAR (8 x 60’) and returning hits SO YOU THINK YOU’D SURVIVE (16 x 60'), SECRETS OF THE EARTH (9 x 30' & 8 x 60') and TORNADO ALLEY (8 x 60' & 12 x 60').
