PASSION DISTRIBUTION SELLS RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE AROUND THE WORLD

London 26th May 2015 - Passion Distribution is delighted to announce a slew of deals for US hit series RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE (140 hours & format).
RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE, now confirmed for its 8th season, has been acquired for the first time by Brazilian broadcaster Globosat for primetime transmission on their flagship channel Multishow and, in another first, the show has been picked up by TLC in Germany. These two deals follow the licensing of all seasons by Tru TV in the UK. The series launches in the UK in June. Meanwhile OUTtv (Canada) has renewed their commitment to the brand by picking up RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE S8 as has Foxtel’s Lifestyle YOU in Australia, who is currently airing the latest season.
The hit US show, produced by World of Wonder, follows the most famous and celebrated drag queen in the world RuPaul as he delivers a dazzling and hilarious performance as judge and mentor to the aspiring drag queen contestants . RuPaul guides the contestants through a series of challenges to prove that they’ve got the “Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent” to be America’s Next Drag Superstar. The US premiere of RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE S7 pulled in a 20% increase from the previous season for Logo. The S7 finale will air on 1st of June on Logo and S8 has been commissioned for another 10 episodes.
