PASSION DISTRIBUTION SEES LARGE SALES IN KUWAIT
9th August, 2012 - Passion Distribution is pleased to announce a number of multi-title deals into Kuwait, totalling a massive 490 hours of programming, focusing predominantly within the food and property genres and further highlighting Passion’s growth in the Middle East, with a huge spike in demand for Lifestyle programming. Pyramid Entertainment brokered a deal for public broadcaster KTV2 for an agreement in excess of 450 hours for a host of titles that included Splash Media’s COOKS TO MARKET (20 x 60’), which sees budding cooks and entrepreneurs compete at famous venues to try and sell their products for the chance to pitch their product to a panel of experts with the power and money to invest in their business. Pyramid’s package deal also consisted of a number of Scripps Networks International titles including the entirety of the ever popular CRASHER’s brand which sees homeowners ambushed by the Crashers team as they’re home improvement shopping and end up with a huge property makeover (372 x 30’). The home & property related titles were concluded with five seasons of the competition based show DESIGN STAR (46 x 60’). Food related programming was also a requisite for Pyramid, with a further number of Scripps’ titles featured, such as long running series SECRETS OF A RESTAURANT CHEF seasons 1-9 (119 x 30’ and 1 x 60’ special). Scripps Networks International’s food titles continued to prove popular with Multi Marque Co. confirming deals for a Kuwaiti broadcaster which included BOBBY FLAY’S BBQ ADDICTION (16 x 30’), THE ORIGINALS WITH EMERIL (13 x 30’) and ACE OF CAKES seasons 9 &10 with a season 9 one-off special (11 x 30’ & 5 x 30’ + 1 x 60’). Paperny Entertainment’s EAT STREET seasons 1-4 + special (67 x 30’ + 1 x 60’) was also included. Physique TV’s licensing of DIET TRIBE (13 x 60’) from Pie Town Productions completed the deals done by, Passion Distribution’s Sales Manager for the region, Rebecca Thomas.
