PASSION DISTRIBUTION SECURES DEALS AHEAD OF DISCOP WEST ASIA
5th March, 2013 - Passion Distribution is pleased to announce a number of sales into Turkey and the Middle East ahead of DISCOP West Asia in Istanbul this week. The deals total over 300 hours and were finalised by two members of Passion Distribution’s newly restructured sales team. Lorenzo Bertolotti is the new Sales Executive for Iberia, Italy and Mediterranean and completed a deal with ARTI Films in Turkey for the format rights to the Mentorn Productions title, WITNESS. The series takes an in-depth look at high profile criminal investigations and delves into what really occurs behind the media spotlight. Digiturk licensed returning seasons of Scripps Networks International’s CUPCAKE WARS, DIY TO THE RESCUE and THE GREAT FOOD TRUCK RACE. Passion’s new Sales Executive for Asia, Africa and Middle East, Nick Tanner, has completed a number of deals in February, including sales to Media Contents Store in South Korea for STORM CITY 2D (4 x 60’), from Pioneer Productions and WORLD’S SCARIEST seasons 1 & 2 (8 x 60’), from Mentorn Productions. Passion will be launching the third season at MIPTV in April. Dubai based channel, Al Arabiya, licensed UNREPORTED WORLD (2 x 60’), from Passion. A large package deal for the Middle Eastern channel, DMTV, was also concluded by Nick Tanner. The deal features a number of long running series, including ICONOCLASTS seasons 2-6 (24 x 60 & 6 x 30’), from Sundance Channel, DIY TO THE RESCUE seasons 1-9 (113 x 30’) and MAN CAVES season 3-7 (58 x 30’ & 2 x 60’) from Scripps Networks International. Another series licensed by DMTV was BRAVING THE ELEMENTS (26 x 30’), distributed by Passion Distribution on behalf of The Weather Channel. This strand reveals the work, subculture and characters of professions that take place outdoors and are impacted by extreme weather and occur in some of the most dangerous locations on the planet.
