PASSION DISTRIBUTION SCORES FACTUAL AND ENTERTAINMENT SALES ACROSS ASIA

Singapore, Tuesday 4th December 2018 - Passion Distribution has signed a raft of wide ranging license agreements with major streaming platforms and volume deals with key terrestrial channels across Asia.

In what marks the first deal with emerging market VOD leader iflix, Passion Distribution licensed a package of factual and drama titles for their Asia Pacific territories. The package includes COLD JUSTICE S1 (10 x 60’), ALL NEW TRAFFIC COPS S1 (7 x 60’), long-running documentary series UNREPORTED WORLD S33-35 (21 x 30’) and premium drama titles CHURCHILL’S SECRET (1 x 120’) and the award-winning THE POLITICIAN’S HUSBAND (3 x 60’).

Further pan territory deals include Discovery licensing hit ITV show JAPANDEMONIUM (6 x 30’), which showcases the wackiest moments from Japanese game shows. The series will air on Discovery Asia across Discovery’s Southeast Asia markets.

In India, production company Optimystix Entertainment India Pvt. Ltd. has acquired the licence for the format IDIOTEST and has produced 80 episodes of the series for Star Plus. Hotstar, India’s largest premium streaming service featured the successful second screen experience of play along for the show.

Also in India, AETN18 continues its commitment to popular entertainment franchises by picking up SKIN WARS: FRESH PAINT (9 x 60’) for FyiTV18, India’s current No.1 Lifestyle Channel and also renewing its license of DYNAMO: MAGICIAN IMPOSSIBLE S1-4 (18 x 60’). FOX Life India has acquired lifestyle titles WHERE TO I DO? (8 x 30’), CHILLI HUNTER (8 x 30’) and documentary HOW THE RICH GET HITCHED (1 x 60’) whilst Zee’s Living Entertainment picked up AN IDIOT ABROAD S1- S2 (16 x 60’) for their Living Foodz channel.

Passion Distribution continues to be a reliable supplier for key terrestrial broadcasters across Asia. TVB in Hong Kong has acquired factual entertainment titles THE CLASS NEXT DOOR (4 x 60') and LAST DAYS OF POMPEII (3 x 60'). NHK in Japan also has picked up a number of documentaries including BIG BEN: SAVING THE WORLD’S MOST FAMOUS CLOCK (1 x 60’). MediaCorp in Singapore has acquired factual entertainment series PLANES GONE VIRAL (8 x 60’) and entertainment series JAPANDEMONIUM (6x30’).
