PASSION DISTRIBUTION SALES SIZZLE IN LATIN AMERICA

31st August, 2012 - Passion Distribution has concluded a raft of sales into Latin American territories totalling 188 hours of programming. The deals highlight strong results for Passion’s content providers. The deals achieved were both pan-level and in key individual Latin American territories including Brazil, Mexico and Argentina.   Mexican educational broadcast network, Once TV, has finalised deals for Paperny Entertainment’s home challenge series, CONSUMED seasons 1 & 2 (13 x 60’ & 9 x 60’), which challenges clutter-ridden families to change their attitude to mess and attempt to survive for thirty days with only the bare essentials and a few personal items. THE ASGARD PROJECT: BRITAIN’S BEST CLIMBER (1 x 90’) by Posing Productions and OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network’s series SEARCHING FOR... (10 x 60’) completed the slate Once TV licensed from Passion Distribution.   Brazil’s Globosat also invested in OWN content licensing FINDING SARAH: FROM ROYALTY TO THE REAL WORLD (6 x 60’), SEARCHING FOR... and IN THE BEDROOM WITH DR LAURA BERMAN season 1 (13 x 60’).   Pan Latin America deals were concluded with Discovery for all three seasons of UKTV’s massively successful series DYNAMO: MAGICIAN IMPOSSIBLE (12 x 60’), which has now sold into over 147 territories and features the mercurial magician on his travels around the world, showcasing his immense talents and cementing his international status! One-off specials I AM JAZZ (1 x 60’) and EXTRAORDINARY MOMS (1 x 60’), from OWN, were also included, as well as Raw TV’s STRICTLY SOULMATES (4 x 60’), Landmark Films’ BEING (12 x 60’) and both seasons of Scripps Networks International’s RESTAURANT STAKEOUT (6 x 60’ & 13 x 60’).   Fox Life secured The Travel Channel’s hit food-appreciation title MAN V. FOOD NATION seasons 1 with 2 specials (25 x 30’ & 2 x 60’). ), which had already sold into 74 territories. Other programmes featured within the pan agreement were THE ANTONIO TREATMENT season 2 (13 x 30’) and DESIGN STAR season 7 (9 x 60’) from Scripps Networks International and Paperny Entertainment’s EAT STREET season 4 (26 x 30’ + 1 x 60’ special).   Beatrice Rossmanith, Sales Manager for Passion Distribution said, “The diversity of these deals demonstrates the high level of demand in the region for Passion’s documentary, lifestyle and factual entertainment series’, which continue to be very successful with their originating broadcasters.
