16th April 2014 - At MIPTV last week, Passion Distribution, the international distributor, finalised a host of deals for its eye-opening documentary, DON’T LOOK DOWN (1 x 60’). The show was part of a slate of shows the distributor launched at MIPTV from cutting-edge, Big Fat Gypsy Weddingproducer Firecracker Films.

Produced for Channel 4 in the UK, DON’T LOOK DOWN explores the world's most dangerous and terrifying new craze. 'Urban Free Climbers' are a new breed of daredevils who illegally climb cranes and buildings without any safety equipment - then hang from them, hundreds of metres above the ground, one slip from certain death. The show proved popular on twitter being the second most tweeted about show on its premiere date pulling in nearly 30,000 tweets.

Passion continues to find global success with its Firecracker content, its shocking documentary MEN IN RUBBER MASKS (1 x 60’) is currently scheduled to air in over 146 countries and DON’T LOOK DOWN seems set to follow in its footsteps.  Passion has completed numerous deals for the vertigo-inducing show with sales into New Zealand (TVNZ), Australia (Nine Network), Denmark (TV2), Norway (TV2), Netherlands (RTL), Sweden (TV4), India (AETN18), Germany (n-tv), Brazil (Globosat), and Israel (S.H. Channel 8).

In a similar tone, Passion recently gained the rights to Firecracker’s Daredevils (3 x 60’) strand which is made up of three specials, Daredevils: The Human Bird (1 x 60’), Daredevils: The Ice Man (1 x 60’), and Daredevils: The Sky Walk (1 x 60’). Previously sold into over 180 countries, Passion is currently discussing second-window rights for the shows.

Passion’s Director of Sales, Emma Simpkins, said “Watching this show is a white knuckle-ride, causing palms to sweat and hearts to race, and for this reason it’s been a tremendous success globally for us.  It’s classic water-cooler TV.  Firecracker has an amazing ability to bring to our screens fantastic characters in their film-making and this documentary special is a great example. It’s guaranteed to get eyeballs and an audience reaction.”
