PASSION DISTRIBUTION DRIVES DOCUMENTARY SALES IN SCANDINAVIA

London, 17th December, 2014 - Passion Distribution is delighted to announce a raft of sales across Scandinavia and Europe from its hard-hitting and compelling documentary portfolio. Sales include critically acclaimed series UNREPORTED WORLD (197 x 30') to Denmark, Poland and Germany and MY ONLINE BRIDE (1 x 60’) to Norway, Denmark and Finland. 

In each episode of UNREPORTED WORLD (a Quicksilver production for Channel 4), reporters travel to dangerous and neglected regions introducing the viewer to extraordinary lives, people and events from around the globe. Recent episodes have included Vietnam’s Dog Snatchers and The Kids of Murder High as well as the Surviving Ebola special. DR-The Danish Broadcasting Corporation has picked up all of S27-28 and is pre-buying the next two seasons to be produced in 2015. ZDF in Germany and LNK in Latvia have selected the recent Ebola special whilst VRT Belgium and TTV Poland have acquired all seasons of the series. 

MY ONLINE BRIDE (a Firecracker Films production for Channel 4) is the extraordinary documentary following British men looking for the woman of their dreams abroad. Described as “flabbergasting” by The Telegraph, MY ONLINE BRIDE premiered on Channel 4 with an audience of 1 million. The revealing film has been licensed to TV2 in Denmark, SBS Discovery in Norway, and SBS Discovery in Finland. 

In a package deal totalling nearly 40 hours DR in Denmark has also licensed CLOTHES TO DIE FOR (1 x 60’) and DEAD BEHIND BARS (1 x 60’).  SBS Discovery in Norway has picked up MY PERFECT BIRTH (1 x 60’), BRITAIN’S POSHEST NANNIES (1 x 60’) and CLOTHES TO DIE FOR. Also in Norway, NRK has licensed ALL CREATURES GREAT AND STUFFED and CLOTHES TO DIE FOR. YLE2 in Finland has licensed all three episodes from the visually stunning DAREDEVILS (3 x 60’) series which focuses on people pushing themselves to their physical and mental extremes.
