PASSION DISTRIBUTION DISTRIBUTES FEATURE
19th December 2013 - Following the news of the Great Train Robber, Ronnie Biggs’ recent passing, Passion Distribution can announce it has secured the worldwide TV and digital rights to the smash hit feature film, BUSTER, which stars legendary musician and actor, Phil Collins (Genesis) and renowned actress, Julie Walters (Educating Rita and the Harry Potter franchise).
The BUSTER deal is a landmark agreement for Passion Distribution as it marks the first time in the distributor’s history that it has acquired the rights to a feature film. The ground-breaking deal was concluded by Passion’s CEO, Sally Miles and Norma Heyman of Buster Films Limited, who is the film’s producer.
Upon its original release in 1988 the film grossed over $540,000 in the U.S. market alone and was also nominated for an Oscar. It is based on a true story and focuses on the group of robbers that planned and executed what has infamously become known as the ‘Great Train Robbery’, which has remained one of the most notorious and audacious robberies in the world.
Passion Distribution’s CEO, Sally Miles said, “This is a fantastic feature film and as the news of Ronnie Bigg’s death hits the global media it will drive audiences back to re-live the biggest heist of its time and how they lived after the event."
