PASSION DISTRIBUTION BRINGING FACTUAL ENTERTAINMENT AND DOCUMENTARY SERIES TO MIPTV 2019
London, Wednesday 20th March 2019 - Passion Distribution is bringing a distinctive slate of over 150 hours of exciting factual entertainment series and premium documentary titles to MIPTV 2019.
Headlining the factual entertainment slate, MUMS MAKE PORN (3 x 60’ and Format) is a thought- provoking and mischievous series in which a group of ordinary mothers with teenage children are given the tools to write, direct and produce their very own porn film. Their mission is to create a film which not only works as pornography but one that sparks a debate and promotes healthy attitudes towards sex and relationships for the next generation. The series launches on the 20th March on Channel 4 and is produced by Firecracker Films.
Also produced by Firecracker Films, this time for E4, is THE SEX CLINIC (6 x 60’ and Format) in which a team of experts tackle young people's sexual health issues, with no subject too taboo. Each patient who walks through the clinic doors has a different story to tell and a very specific sexual health problem that needs solving.
In THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT (15 x 60’ and Format) aspiring entrepreneurs try to make a success of their inventions by testing their products on a cast of returning customers, who will unbox and deliver their honest, funny and sometimes brutal assessments. As the customer is always right, they then select the winning product. A Firecracker Films production for BBC One.
Newly acquired factual entertainment series MY FAMILY SECRETS REVEALED (15 x 60’ and Format), from Big Mountain for Channel 4, is an innovative, heart-warming series that offers the public a chance to connect directly with their family history for the first time. A team of genealogical and historical experts, pour over electoral, birth and death records, analyse DNA and build family trees to reveal fascinating stories, prove exciting connections (sometimes even a celebrity connection!) and solve family puzzles about long lost relatives.
Passion Distribution continues to expand its documentary series offering with a strong selection of human-interest programming. In MIRIAM’S DEATHLY ADVENTURE (2 x 60’), inimitable actress Miriam Margolyes (The Real Marigold Hotel, Miriam’s Big American Adventure) is on a mission to confront her fear of ageing and death. With her unique mix of charm, cheek and intellectual curiosity, Miriam travels through the UK, Europe and America taking an unflinching look at different approaches and attitudes to dealing with death. Further documentary series include WORLD’S DEADLIEST (13 x 60’) which features incredible stories across themed episodes using first-person testimony and UGC footage to explore how split-second decisions can make the difference between life and death. The series is produced by Back2Back Productions for 5Spike.
GRIME AND PUNISHMENT (6 x 60’) follows the people who have to deal with the sharp end of people’s trash mountains, horrible hotels and revolting restaurants. The series is full of surprising stories seen through the eyes of those ordinary and extraordinary people dealing with it every day. The series is produced by Lambent Productions for Channel 5. Also from Lambent Productions for Channel 5, MY HOUSE AND OTHER ANIMALS (2 x 60’) follows heart-warming and dramatic stories of animal rehabilitation, featuring wildlife heroes – the people who look after animals 24/7, when there is nowhere else for them to go.
Lifestyle titles include BEST CHRISTMAS FOOD EVER (10 x 60’) in which Michelin starred Chef Paul Ainsworth and popular home cook Catherine Fulvio host a fabulous festive feast in which they prepare seasonal dishes worthy of the Christmas table. A Hungry Gap Productions production for BBC One.
