PASSION DISTRIBUTION BRINGING ENTERTAINMENT, FORMATS AND DOCUMENTARIES TO MIPTV 2015!
London – Thursday 2nd April 2015. Passion Distribution is pleased to announce a line-up of brand new Entertainment, Factual, Documentary and Format programming for MIPTV with a strong roster of returning series.
Highlights include new entertainment series … MAKE YOU LAUGH OUT LOUD (7 x 60’) a user generated clip (UGC) series which celebrates the amazing wealth of talented, funny and at times weird animals (and their owners). Episodes include Cats, Dogs, Pets and Animals. Mentorn Media produced CATS MAKE YOU LAUGH OUT LOUD, was a hit for Channel 5 when it first aired in January with over 2 million viewers.
STRANGE MEDICINE (12 x30’) is the first programme Passion is distributing for Fusion - the US based multi-platform media company. Featuring Dr. Juan Rivera, who takes viewers along for the ride as he investigates the secrets and strangeness of some of the most exotic medicines and cures. Can ancient remedies and folk rituals actually heal? In each episode we take a peek into what medicine looks like outside our carefully regulated bubble - complete with wildlife face-offs and cultural clashes.
Emmy award winning Lifestyle programme, AVEC ERIC (12 X 30’), provides an insight into the professional life and lifestyle of one of the greatest chefs in the world today - Eric Ripert.Each episode is a journey from restaurant to the source of Eric’s inspiration to our own homes as Eric shows us how to achieve four-star simplicity and elevate our own food experiences.
Documentaries include the timely DARA O’BRIAIN MEETS STEPHEN HAWKING (1 X 60’). Dara O’Briain is granted exclusive access to Professor Hawking’s world in a one hour documentary film produced for the BBC by RAIN Media Entertainment and Big Red Productions. Dara will discuss with Stephen everything from his own personal backstory featured in the award winning film The Theory of Everything to what the future of quantum physics might discover.
Returning series include SKIN WARS S2 (10 x 60’) the exciting competition show which aims to find the most talented and versatile body painter hosted by Rebecca Romijn (X-Men, Ugly Betty) and featuring RuPaul as part of the judging panel. The Season 1 finale delivered GSN’S highest rated final in its history. Other returning series include CHARLIE LUXTON’S HOMES BY THE SEA S2 (8 x 60’) and SELLING HOUSES (20 x 60’) for a third season with Amanda Lamb.
Formats include the brand new game show from GSN – IDIOTEST (30’). In each episode two pairs of contestants have the opportunity to face off in several rounds of deceptively simple tests answering brain teaser questions to see who is the true “idiot”. A second season of 65 episodes has already been commissioned by the broadcasters GSN. FAMILY QUIZ BOX (’60), a Firecracker production, is the new family show which sees four larger than life families playing the same quiz at the same time from the comfort of their own homes. Hosted by the unique “Quiz Box” it mixes the best of comedic, character driven reality with the exciting play along fun of a quiz show.
