PASSION DISTRIBUTION STRIKES GOLD WITH INTERNATIONAL FACTUAL ENTERTAINMENT AND TRUE CRIME SALES
London, Monday 18th April, 2016 - Following MIPTV, Passion Distribution is delighted to announce a raft of international deals across its factual entertainment and true crime slates with sales including PROSPECTORS S2-S3 to Discovery Networks Southern Europe and MIND OF A MURDER S2 to Foxtel.
In Spain, Discovery has picked up the second window rights of KLONDIKE S1-2 (20 x 60’) for its Discovery MAX channel.
In Italy, Discovery has acquired over 60 hours of programming including PROSPECTORS S2-3 (19 x 60’) and WEATHER GONE VIRAL (8 x 60’). Discovery has also licensed key titles from Passion Distribution’s true crime catalogue including MAIL ORDER MURDER (6 x 30’), STALKED S1-2 (22 x 30’), FRENEMIES S1-2 (23 x 30' & 1 x60') and documentary titles ESCORTS (1 x 60’) and THE RAREST BOY IN THE WORLD ( 1 x 60’).
RMC Decouverte in France has acquired a package of over 65 hours of programming including PROSPECTORS S1-4 (29 x 60' & 9 x 30'), KLONDIKE GOLD FEVER S1-2 (20 x 60’) and TIMBER KINGS S3 (12 x 60’). Also in France, AB Group have picked up 3 SCIENTISTS WALK INTO A BAR (8 x 60’) and TFI have acquired TORNADO ALLEY S2 (12 x 60’) for the Ushuaia Channel.
BBC Worldwide has picked up FAT GUYS IN THE WOODS S1 & 2 (16 x 60’) as well as HELI-LOGGERS (10 x 60’) for its BBC Brit channel in Poland. BBC Worldwide has also licensed TRAFFIC COPS S12 (5 x 60’) for BBC Brit in Africa. BBC Worldwide Channels has now licensed all seasons of TRAFFIC COPS for the UKTV channel in New Zealand.
Foxtel in Australia has acquired MIND OF A MURDERER S2 (6 x 60’) as well as docu-drama DEAD OF WINTER: THE DONNER PARTY (2 x 60 or 1 x 120'). True Thailand has licensed TIMBER KINGS S2 (14 x 60’) whilst ABS-CBN in the Philippines has picked up documentaries RICH KIDS OF SOCIAL MEDIA (1 x 60’), CHARLIE HEBDO: 3 DAYS OF TERROR (1 x 60’) and UNREPORTED WORLD.
In the UK, Sony Pictures Entertainment has picked up a raft of crime titles for its True Crime Channel including - BATMAN SHOOTINGS (1 x 60’), CAPATIVE FOR 18 YEARS: THE JAYCEE LEE STORY (1 x 60’), STACEY DOOLEY: BEATEN BY MY BOYFRIEND (1 x 60’), CUTTING EDGE: THE BLACK WIDOW (1 x 60’), WIFE, MOM & BOUNTY HUNTER (1 x 60’), WHY DID OSCAR PISTRORIUS KILL OUR DAUGHTER?
