PASSION DISTRIBUTION SCORES WITH THE DRESSING ROOM
London, Thursday 8th June - Passion Distribution is delighted to announce that THE DRESSING ROOM will be made into local versions in various territories ahead of its premiere in the UK. The brand new fly on the wall series is being produced in Norway and Holland, ahead of launch on UKTV’s W channel next week.
Broadcasters TV3 (Norway) and SBS (Holland) have both commissioned the show and further local adaptations are expected with the format now under option in Australia, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Finland and Denmark.
From STV Productions and Motion Content Group, THE DRESSING ROOM is a fixed-rig reality entertainment show that follows the personal and sporting fortunes of a range of different amateur clubs, all through the action that unfolds in the dressing room.
The series follows key characters in each club, their personal stories, including their work, family and relationship dramas that they share with their teammates. Each episode follows the natural structure of a sporting event, with a pre-game beginning, motivational team talks in the middle at half-time and post-match reactions at the end, and all the emotion that comes with being part of a team - the commiseration of losing, and the various ways to celebrate a win.
Emmanuelle Namiech, CEO at Passion Distribution, said “We are delighted that international broadcasters share our excitement for The Dressing Room. The series is a captivating fly-on the wall series that offers a window into the hidden dramas taking place off the pitch. More broadly, it also offers an incredibly intimate snapshot of modern society, where community sport is at the heart of the country’s social fabric”.
Gary Chippington, Head of Entertainment at STV Productions, said “‘We’re thrilled to have delivered a hugely engaging and original first series of The Dressing Room to UKTV’s W, and it’s really exciting that the format has attracted so much international interest before the first episode has even aired”.
The programme premiers on W on Wednesday 14th June at 10pm.All news
