PASSION DISTRIBUTION BRINGS PESTS TO CANNES

London – Tuesday 30th March 2016 - Passion Distribution is delighted to bring a full roster of new and returning entertainment and lifestyle series to MIPTV 2016.

 

Brand new titles include the hilarious and shocking DEADLIEST PESTS DOWN UNDER (20 x 30’), which follows a group of brave pest controllers as they take on the challenge of spending a punishing summer season “Down Under” where they face lethal spiders, snakes and crocs. DEADLIEST PESTS DOWN UNDER is a co-production between Passion Distribution and broadcaster UKTV and produced by Popkorn TV.

 

CHARLIE LUXTON’S HOMES BY THE MED (6 x 60’) is the new lifestyle series presented by Charlie Luxton produced by True North Productions for MORE 4. In this series, designer Charlie Luxton travels from Spain to Greece exploring the Mediterranean’s fascinating architecture. Along the way Charlie experiences life as a local and meets the lucky people with truly amazing homes by the Med. In addition, CHARLIE LUXTON’S HOMES BY THE SEA returns for a third season (6 x 60’). In each episode Charlie sees a different stretch of coastline, visiting fishing towns, isolated hamlets, and sunny resorts on the look-out for amazing homes that will inspire a global audience. HOMES BY THE SEA is produced by True North productions for MORE 4.

 

New game show GAY FOR PLAY (12 x 30’), hosted by the fabulous RuPaul, is a camp, comedic, trivia game show where a panel of six celebrities help two contestants answer pop culture questions over various rounds with the goal of winning a prize. Each, week two pop culture junkies battle head to head to see who will come out on top and have the chance to win over $5,000 in cash and prizes. A celebrity panel is on hand every episodes to help contestants answer a range of pop culture trivia questions, while the resident go-go boys dance between acts and help with the grand prize reveal. SKIN WARS: FRESH PAINT(9 x 60’), also hosted by master of transformation RuPaul, features three of Skin Wars’ top former contestants who mentor six new, highly accomplished artists each week.  These artists are at the top of their game in their own disciplines, but will leave their creative comfort zones to compete in body painting for the first time, attempting to win the $10,000 prize at the end of each show and become a Skin Wars: Fresh Paint Champion.   A Michael Levitt Productions production for Game Show Network. SKIN WARS itself returns for a third season (10 x 60’). Hosted by Rebecca Romijn (X-Men, Ugly Betty) the hour-long competition show sees contestants compete in elaborate body painting challenges to avoid elimination and win over the approval of judges.

 

Other factual entertainment series include FIND IT, FIX IT, FLOG IT (20 X 60’) and THE GREAT ESCAPERS (25 x 60’). FIND IT, FIX IT, FLOG IT produced by HCA Entertainment for Channel 4, stars presenters Henry Cole and Simon O’Brien, who are invited into two owner’s properties to search for some interesting and possibly valuable items.  Their selected “picks” are taken away to restoration experts to see what can be done to restore and upcycle. From rusty motorbikes to tarnished tea pots, family heir looms to 20th century collectables, the experts will dig them out and value them.  Competing against each other, the presenters try and make the most amount of profit with all the proceeds going back to the lucky owner! THE GREAT ESCAPERS, airing as A NEW LIFE IN THE SUN on Channel 4 from True North Productions, is an entertaining relocation show with big heart and even bigger characters. The series follows an intrepid band of ex-pats who’ve created their own little corner of home in a foreign land setting up a new business such as a bar on the beautiful Spanish coast to a B&B in rural France; a start-up dance school in Fuengirola to a fitness boot camp in Marbella, all pursuing their dream of the good life in the sun.
