London, Monday 14th November - Following DISCOP Africa 2016 Passion Distribution is delighted to announce a raft of package deals across Africa with Wananchi and BBC Worldwide and international sales for DEADLIEST PESTS DOWN UNDER (20 x 30’).
Passion Distribution has licensed over 170 hours of programming to East African broadcaster Wananchi. The package includes factual entertainment series TIMBER KINGS S1 (10 x 60’) and CARVER KINGS (14 x 30’) from Paperny Entertainment and The Weather Channel titles 3 SCIENTISTS WALK INTO A BAR (8 X 60’) and FAT GUYS IN THE WOODS S2 (8 x 60’). Other titles include the series of films DAREDEVILS: THE SKY WALKER (1 x 60’), DAREDEVILS: THE HUMAN BIRD (1 x 60’) and DAREDEVILS: THE ICE MAN (1 x 60’) produced by Firecracker for Channel 4. The visually stunning films, follow some of the world’s most fearless individuals, who push themselves to the physical and mental limits of human capabilities.
Further deals include a package of programming to BBC Worldwide which includes RICH KIDS OF SOCIAL MEDIA (6 x 60'), THE SECRET LIFE OF HUMAN PUPS (1 X 60’), EVOLUTION OF US (2 x 60’) and DEADLIEST PESTS DOWN UNDER (20 x 30’). Factual entertainment series RICH KIDS OF SOCIAL MEDIA follows the real and extraordinary lives of international Rich Kids, produced by Popkorn TV for E4. Documentary SECRET LIFE OF THE HUMAN PUPS (1 x 60’) produced by Firecracker for Channel 4, introduces us to a previously unseen subculture of ordinary people who lead extraordinary double lives, dressing up in elaborate dog suits that cost thousands of pounds as they strive to become their very own pet. EVOLUTION OF US (2 x 60’) is an epic science special exploring how genetics have underpinned the whole of human evolution and could play an even greater role in determining where evolution will take us next. Factual entertainment programme DEADLIEST PESTS DOWN UNDER (20 x 30’) has also been acquired in Australia (Discovery), Italy (Discovery), Poland (BBC Worldwide), and Germany (NTV). DEADLIEST PESTS DOWN UNDER follows a group of brave (and occasionally hapless) pest controllers as they take on the challenge of spending a summer season in Australia. The series, which began airing on UKTV in Spring 2016, is made by Popkorn TV and is a co-production with Passion Distribution.
