PASSION DISTRIBUTION ACQUIRES THE DRESSING ROOM, THE NEXT GREAT MAGICIAN AND DYNAMO SPECIALS
London, Thursday 1st September 2016 - Passion Distribution is delighted to announce the acquisition of brand new entertainment titles THE DRESSING ROOM (6 x 60’), Dynamo specials DYNAMO: LIVE AT THE O2 (1 x 60’) and DYNAMO: A-Z (1 x 60’) and THE NEXT GREAT MAGICIAN (6 x 60’).
Passion Distribution has secured worldwide rights to THE DRESSING ROOM, a fixed-rig reality entertainment show that follows the sporting season of a range of different clubs across the country, all through the action that unfolds in the dressing room. A co-production between STV Productions and GroupM Entertainment for UKTV’s W, the series follows the key characters in each club, their personal stories, including their work, family and relationship dramas that they share with their teammates. Each episode follows the natural structure of a sporting event, with a pre-game beginning, motivational team talks in the middle at half-time and post-match reactions at the end, and all the and all the emotion that comes with being part of a team - the commiseration of losing, and the various ways to celebrate a win.
Adding to Passion Distribution’s Dynamo portfolio are two specials DYNAMO: LIVE AT THE O2 and DYNAMO: A-Z. Coming off the back of his multi award-winning television series Dynamo: Magician Impossible, Dynamo embarked on the biggest live magic show in British history and became the first Magician in history to headline the legendary O2 Arena in London with his critically acclaimed show, Seeing Is Believing. Shrouded in secrecy, the show is the culmination of over 10 years work and has attracted audiences of over 400,000 people across 100 dates. In DYNAMO: A-Z, the world's most innovative magician returns with an alphabetical journey through his jaw-dropping magic, illusion and sleight of hand. Featuring top celebrity guests such as Coldplay’s Chris Martin taken from his four award-winning series and including some his most iconic illusions - levitating above The Shard, walking down the LA Times building and walking across the River Thames. Dynamo is on hand to introduce the clips and give a special insight into each one. But it's not just Dynamo's most incredible stunts from his series in this special one-off - there is also some new, exclusive magic too. Phil McIntyre Television and Inner Circle Films have produced both specials for W.
Passion Distribution has also secured worldwide rights to THE NEXT GREAT MAGICIAN, the brand new entertainment programme from Derren Brown’s Vaudeville Productions in association with Crook Productions for ITV. THE NEXT GREAT MAGICIAN features the world’s best magicians performing their greatest tricks, many of them for the first time ever on television, as they compete to be crowned The Next Great Magician. Each episode sees five magicians perform their most sensational tricks, from close-up and comedy magic through to amazing illusions and incredible escapes, both in front of a studio audience and on location in front of astounded members of the public and celebrities. The magicians then judge each other’s performances, with each week’s highest-voted contestant going through to the final. In the grand live final, the five top magicians will perform even more astonishing new tricks in a battle to win a truly money-can’t-buy prize: their own television special.
