16 July, 2010 - Passion Distribution is pleased to announce a host of sales for MAN SHOPS GLOBE SEASON 2, produced by World of Wonder for The Sundance Channel in the US.This brand new 8x30’ season of the series starring Keith Johnson, the antiques buyer for the innovative speciality retailer Anthropologie has been acquired by: SBS in Australia, Sundance International for Canada, Central Europe, Greece & Turkey in addition to the territories of France, Benelux and Asia, MTV3 in Finland, Digicast in Italy, Sky Arts Channel in New Zealand and Home Channel in South Africa.
Anthropologie opened its first European store on London’s Regent Street on 23rd October 2009.
The show is now on air in over 50 countries worldwide. Season One (8x30’) has previously sold to Sundance International Asia, Canada, Benelux, Central Europe, France, Greece and Turkey; Ovation, Australia; MTV3, Finland; Digicast, Italy; Sky Arts, New Zealand; Red Media, Russia & CIS; Home Channel, South Africa and to DigEcor, IFE Services, Inflight Productions & Spafax for inflight entertainment systems.
Season 2 of MAN SHOPS GLOBE follows Keith Johnson, the antiques buyer for the innovative speciality retailer Anthropologie visiting Thailand, Scotland, Cyprus, Sweden, Australia, Italy, Syria and Mexico to name a few!. One of the largest purchasers of decorative antiques in the world, Johnson globe trots six months out of the year to find one of a kind home furnishings and accesssories. This series follows his high-pursuit, ends-of-the-earth excursions, from flea markets in Paris to remote villages in India to obscure art studios across the globe. In each location, Johnson, with a team of local experts and artists acquires and re-imagines a new life for the eclectic objects he finds. Working against the clock and driven by his own competitive spirit, he is inexhaustible in his search for uncommon design, as well as his appreciation of the creative process: each episode showcases exquisite, delightful objects and the artists and process behind the work.
