November 20, 2009 - Passion Distribution is proud to be working with Waddell Media for the first time, having just taken on distribution of the groundbreaking documentary ‘How Bruce Lee Changed the World’. The title was launched at MIPCOM and has got off to a fantastic start selling into several territories with many more deals in the pipe.Discovery has picked up ‘How Bruce Lee Changed the World’ for all its feeds across Asia & Pacific Rim which includes Australia and New Zealand. A DVD deal with Freemantle / Roadshow is also in place in Australia & New Zealand and other territories which have picked it up include TF6 in France, a deal which was signed on the stand in Cannes, and Telad in Israel. The documentary special is also under negotiation in Scandinavia, Hungary and Central Europe.
‘How Bruce Lee Changed the World’ is a 1x90’ film produced by Waddell Media. It is a groundbreaking documentary taking a completely new approach to Bruce Lee’s legacy. More than just a biography, this film explores Lee’s global impact to see how he has influenced all areas of popular culture including fitness, cinema, music, sport, dance, video games and philosophy. Filmed in High Definition, this cinematic journey travels across the United States, Asia and Europe and takes his daughter Shannon Lee on a trip back to her father’s roots in Hong Kong and China. In addition, the filmmakers have been granted unique access to the family’s photographic archive, home movies and all material owned by the Bruce Lee Foundation. A stellar cast of contributors include Jackie Chan, LL Cool J, Stan Lee, Sugar Ray Leonard, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, musicians RZA from WuTang Clan, Damon Albarn, Lalo Schifrin, directors John Woo and Brett Ratner and comedians Margaret Cho and Eddie Griffin.
