We’re known as a nation of animal lovers but the statistics tell a very different story.

Every year in the UK, thousands of wild animals and household pets fall victim to abuse, persecution and neglect. Animal 24:7 is a gritty and fast-moving series following the people dedicated to saving them.

This fly-on-the-wall series goes on the road with the RSPCA Inspectors cracking down on cruelty. It tracks the work of sanctuaries who rescue sick and injured wildlife – and the people who often become surrogate mums to orphans.

Animal 24:7 also features teams fighting to stamp out the illegal trade in endangered species and showcases amazing wildlife from seals and whales to rare birds of prey and more common garden visitors like badgers and hedgehogs.

And it also takes us into the homes of Britain’s ten million pet owners, with their dogs, cats, rabbits, rats and snakes!

For the viewer it’s an extraordinary glimpse into the world of wild and domestic animals. For the rescuers on Animal 24:7 – it’s all in a days work!
